I grew up in a family of political activists, passing out leaflets as a child and marching in protests as a teen. My mother was a serious painter who taught me her vision. When I began my earlier career as a symphony musician, I felt that rhythm belonged to visual art too, as the eye moves around the page, stopping here and there. After many years, I moved to a profession in the financial industry, and my art took a more analytical and detailed turn. And now we have come full circle, as the Black Lives Matter movement echoes the civil rights movement of my youth. It is time to sing out to the world the story of those who are so gravely harmed our country, and to lift them up until a day when there will be justice for all.
